The album arrived early so I was able to listen to one of my favorite artists. Great transaction.
I would throw it away, but I'd rather recycle. Gavin DeGraw, you should do better than this, especially because there was such a long hiatus between records.
I remember there was a time when I had it in my car and it was consistently in the player. I was a pretty big fan of Gavin DeGraw's first CD.
It's sophomoric in tone (no pun intended) and it's simple, dumb lyrics and overused cliches did nothing to showcase the often weak musical accompaniment. I liked his piano based songs (I'm a piano player myself) and he amazing, soulful voice.
I was very excited for his second album and expected nothing but the best. This album fits the archetype of the sophomore slump to the tea. I was very dissapointed, and only listened to two songs on the CD a second time.
I hope his new effort is considerably more thought provoking than this dull, lifeless album.
The only concern I had was that the CD case came cracked. But I'm sure that was because of the shipping process. Maybe it could have been packed better.
This CD is really enjoyable, each song is as enjoyable as the first. Alot of albums have a great title song and the rest of them suck, not on this one. Gavin is a super talent and I can't wait for his next CD.
Gavin DeGraw is so talented. I love his heartfelt, personal style of songwriting. I can listen to this CD over and over again and not get sick of it.
